The mechanical design engineer will design mid-size manufacturing automation systems for automated inspection, test, measurement and counting.

The duties include designing, developing, and supporting automation machines including framing, motion control, control panels, conveyors, robotics and machine vision for a wide variety of industries.
Candidates should have strong CAD design, (Solidworks) experience to the assembly and BOM level.
Sourcing and specification of components, internal team and client collaboration, hands-on assembly, wiring and programming.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills & qualifications:
- Advanced Degree as a Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Automation Engineer, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics or another engineering/scientific field. Practical experience in combination of education will be considered.
- Strong analytical and machine design skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Programming language Python, Ignition, LabVIEW, and/or PLC experience helpful.
- Broad technical knowledge spanning a wide range of application areas.
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both alone and with colleagues both remotely and onsite.
- Discipline and organization with respect to project timelines, budgets and documentation.
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing automation systems.
Pay is commensurate with skills and qualifications of the applicant. This is an onsite position in our Philadelphia, PA area office.
