Sciotex is looking for a motivated, and creative individual to fill an opening for an Electrical / Electronics Control Design Engineer.
Sciotex is an advanced engineering firm specializing in computer vision, robotics and test automation systems. This position requires physical work at our small fabrication shop located in Newtown Square, PA. This position also has remote and flexible schedule options depending on the type of work being performed.
The duties include electrical design using Solidworks / AutoCAD and light assembly of control and electrical boxes that drive advanced automation systems using a combination of external resources and internally using basic hand tools and equipment in our shop. Projects are largely manufacturing based with control panels, PLCs, motion control, various sensors, etc. Our systems can be integrated as sub-systems to larger manufacturing capabilities or designed as standalone systems. We are mostly inventing new ways of accomplishing things with a high concentration in developing automated test and inspection systems. This position will team up on design and development of solutions with internal software, computer vision and mechatronics engineers. Our systems are primarily used in the manufacturing and scientific research industries.
Experience gained from a BS or MS in engineering or systems development preferred. Strong design experience with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD (electrical) is required. The ability to write code (LabVIEW / C / Python / PLC) is required. Also helpful is training and experience with formal project management. These technical qualifications along with a love of engineering, solving big challenges, strong work ethic, teamwork and desire to work on full-cycle projects is a great combination.
